Well that's it the 2024 season has drawn to a close.
We didn't top off another successful season for the club with the World Team Champions 🏆 today as we got beat in the Quarter Final by Esculsham who played the green very well.
But what a year anyway.
Thanks to Beverley Martin and all the staff for looking after us so well again this year.
The greens men, Carl & Willy, both greens were in good nick this year and green 1's recovery from a sand pit two seasons ago is a minor miracle.
Thanks to all the captains, teams wouldn't run without people giving up their time. All captains do a fantastic job but I'm going to single two of them out;
Adi Faulkner who retires as the first team captain and what a way to go out - treble winners 🏆🏆🏆. The most successful captain in the clubs history & Paul Knop who runs both the Norley and Mid Cheshire teams, thanks Paul I'll give you a big hug when I see you next 🤣
I am really proud that our club is bringing new players into the game, remember we have 5 teams in the Mid Cheshire League at a time when most clubs are struggling for players.
I've counted up the votes and this year's player of the year is John Gurney but it's a joint award for Helen too.
The Gurn (Legend) came back from a serious illness mid way through the season and has played marvellous. But as a club we all need to thank John & Helen for the work they did with all the flowers around the greens - maybe it shouldn't be player of the year but members of the year? (Thanks to Adi & Rick for helping with 💦 duties)
Thanks to Ernie for building the new shelter on green 2 ❤️
Sadly amongst all the great news & achievements above the 2024 season will be remembered as the year we lost a club legend - Pam Plant 😢
What a club, what a season - but bowls will change forever next season - Freddie is coming for you...
The picture sums up our club, my club that I am proud to be the Bowls Secretary of.

If I've forgot to thank someone, sorry, but thanks 👍
